5 Crystals to help with stress relief

Hello friend, before we go any further I’m going to predict something about you, you’re running on empty, there’s not enough time in the day to get sh*t done, you’re feeling overwhelmed, overworked and burning out. Am I near the mark?

Isn’t it scary that this applies to the majority of us in this day and age? Just remember you’re not the only one, I can say that I probably exist in this very stressful state for the majority of the time. It’s not right, it’s not healthy, and it’s just plain exhausting.

Somewhere along the line of our evolution, we have got this wrong, we live to work, counting down the days until that next holiday (that we have to work to pay for) and living for those paltry two days off we get a week. Am I right? Good, I will put the crystal ball away and give you some crystal recommendations that help me when I’m feeling particularly frazzled.
1. Lapis Lazuli
Beloved of the ancient Egyptians Lapis Lazuli is one of the oldest crystals used in spirituality. Lapis is well known for blocking negative energies coming at you from others (I’m looking at you Sharon from Purchasing) but is also known as a crystal to aid you on your spiritual journey, helping to clear away emotional blockages. Lapis is known as the crystal of wisdom and truth and is particularly useful when you are feeling overworked.

How to use it?

Lapis Lazuli tumblestones are natural to come by but look for the higher grade pieces which are a deep blue with gold flecks. Carry it around with you to help during the day and sleep with it under your pillow for cleansing, peaceful dreams.

2. Amazonite
Green as deep waters and just as calming, Amazonite soothes the mind and spirit. Particularly good at soothing office disputes alleviating negative energies and electromagnetic pollution. This crystal is also known for its prosperity so if you run your own business (like moi) Amazonite not only keeps you calm when the 100 hour work weeks take control but also helps you attracts new customers. Win-win eh?

How to use it?

Amazonite has been worn as jewellery for hundreds of years, and gem chip bracelets of this beautiful stone not only keep you calm but look amazing. For the workplace, I would recommend a free-form piece to stay near your till/cash register or by your computer.

3. Black Tourmaline
Black Tourmaline is the one crystal I recommend to everyone. Don’t be put off by its black colour, it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing crystal, but it sure is mighty. Black Tourmaline neutralises any and all negative energy; it’s particularly useful if you need help seeing the positive side of a situation. I am as guilty of this as anyone, but sometimes negativity is how you perceive a situation which Black Tourmaline is perfect at kicking you out of that mindset.

How to use it?

Rough Black Tourmaline is a perfect piece to have on your desk at work, think of it as a don’t f with me bubble around you, no one can ruin your good energy with this stone around! Tumblestones are great to carry around with you and make great worry stones for restless hands.

Lepidolite for stress relief
4. Lepidolite

Lepidolite is even a calming stone to look at, with its pale lilac purple colour. It’s a gentle and soothing stone particularly useful in calming busy minds. As well as warding off stress and worry, this stone uplifts you and induces self-love as well as trust in one’s abilities to take everything life throws at us.

How to use it?

Lepidolite jewellery is a great way to handle this stone, taking its uplifting energies wherever you go to stop you from getting into that dark place where you eat a tub of ice cream as a snack. Thumbstones and palmstones are particularly soothing and are great to have in your pocket when you need a boost.

Amethyst for stress relief
5. Amethyst
Amethyst is a must have for any collector, healer or purple lover! However, this mighty crystal also is a stress-busting machine. Amethyst is known as a natural tranquiliser of irritable and stressful energies. It’s particularly useful for empaths who may not be feeling stressed themselves but are picking up on the stressful energies of others. So the next time you’ve has a stressful day reach for the Amethyst rather than a third gin and tonic (no judgement here guys – you do you.)

How to use it?

Amethyst clusters are perfect to put on a bedside table to help dispel all that stress before you go to sleep. Amethyst in jewellery is perfect to wear at work, to help you remain calm when your boss adds another deadline to your groaning pile.

These are some crystals that work for me, but I encourage you all to figure out the stone that works for you. Placing crystals by the side of your bed and holding/ putting them around you while your logging another 10-minute meditation in the headspace app, will help your badass self-get back in control.
